A huge final day of the NRL season sees the Manly Sea Eagles clash with the Cronulla Sharks, and the Newcastle Knights take on the Dolphins.
In the first game, the Sea Eagles will be out to grab a win and lock themselves into a home elimination final against the Canterbury Bulldogs next weekend.
A loss will ensure they have to travel to Homebush to play the Bulldogs.
Cronulla, on the other hand, are locked into fourth spot and will travel to Melbourne next weekend unless they can put a 73-point win on the board which would see them move into third spot.
In the later game, it's a straight shootout for eighth spot. The winner of the Newcastle Knights and Dolphins will travel to Townsville next weekend to clash with the North Queensland Cowboys.
If it's a draw, the Canberra Raiders will take that spot after beating the St George Illawarra Dragons on Saturday.

TRY! Ronaldo Mulitalo (Sharks)
Quality end to end rugby league here. Cronulla march down the field on the back of the penalty, and they head left. Trindall gets outside the defence as Cherry-Evans rushes out of the line. He throws it to ground does Trindall, but Mulitalo manages to pick up the rolling ball and dive over in the corner.Hynes slots the first conversion of the afternoon and the Sharks are back in the lead.
21' - Sea Eagles 8 - Sharks 4
Manly almost over again there, but Katoa does a good job under a high ball from Cherry-Evans, then the Sea Eagles give away a penalty to let the Sharks out of their own end.19' - Sea Eagles 8 - Sharks 4
TRY! Clayton Faulalo (Sea Eagles)
And Manly make the Sharks pay again. They continue to play fast rugby league. Roll up the middle, then Cherry-Evans kicks to the wing. Mulitalo looked there, but Faulalo gets in front of Mulitalo, leaps for it, grabs it and crashes over through Kennedy in cover defence.Garrick no good on the conversion again, but Manly have the lead as they push for a home final.
16' - Sea Eagles 4 - Sharks 4
Entertaining footy here. Both sides throwing caution to the wind. Cronulla give away a penalty with a break down the right-hand side though for an obstruction, then add ten metres to it as Nicho Hynes gets pinged for backchat.Hard to get a read on this one. Pretty even start, but Manly onto the attack now.
13' - Sea Eagles 4 - Sharks 4
TRY! Tommy Talau (Sea Eagles)

Things settle into an arm wrestle, then Katoa passes the ball off the ground and gives away a penalty. Manly to go on the attack right here.7' - Sea Eagles 0 - Sharks 4

Katoa almost found a way to not score that! Length of the field stuff from the Sharks in this seven-tackle set. They go left, then flip it right. Hynes and Kennedy involved in the lead up before Katoa tip toes the sideline and puts the first point on the board.Hynes no good on the conversion from the sideline.
5' - Sea Eagles 0 - Sharks 0
Is it a try? Manly set this up nicely to the left, Luke Brooks puts a grubber through that seemed like it was going long, but Lehi Hopoate manages to track it down and plant the ball in the in goal. Looked very dodgy, the grounding, but called a try. Bunker will need to take a look. And yes, a knock on it is. Seven-tackle set ahead for Cronulla.
3' - Sea Eagles 0 - Sharks 0
And it's an ordinary start to this one. Blayke Brailey puts the ball down on Tackle 2 for the Sharks. Manly invited back onto the attack.2' - Sea Eagles 0 - Sharks 0

>>Bills vs Cardinals NFL Live: The Ultimate Game HERE >>
Date & Time: Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 1:00 PM ET.
Location: Highmark Stadium, Orchard Park, New York.
TV Broadcast: The game will be aired on CBS.When it comes to exciting NFL matchups, few can match the intensity and unpredictability of a Buffalo Bills vs Arizona Cardinals game. This rivalry, though not traditional, has produced some of the most exciting games in recent memory. In this article, we’ll dive deep into the upcoming live matchup, covering everything from the history of the rivalry to key player matchups, predictions, and how you can catch all the action live.
History of the Bills vs Cardinals Matchups
The Bills and Cardinals might not have the deep-seated rivalry of other NFL teams, but every time they clash, it's bound to entertain. Over the years, these two teams have squared off in a number of close, dramatic games, including a notable contest in 2020 where the Cardinals snatched victory with an iconic Hail Mary touchdown from Kyler Murray to DeAndre Hopkins. Both teams have evolved since, with key changes in their rosters and coaching styles, making their next encounter a highly anticipated one.
Team Overview: Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills have emerged as one of the most formidable teams in the NFL in recent years, largely thanks to the exceptional play of their star quarterback, Josh Allen. Known for his dual-threat ability, Allen is capable of delivering big plays both through the air and on the ground.
Beyond Allen, the Bills boast a robust roster with Stefon Diggs as the leading receiver, a solid defense anchored by Tre'Davious White, and a coaching mastermind in Sean McDermott. In the current NFL season, the Bills have shown their mettle, securing important wins and consistently performing at a high level. Their strong offensive and defensive lines give them a balanced approach to every game.
Team Overview: Arizona Cardinals
On the other side of the field, the Arizona Cardinals are led by the electrifying Kyler Murray. Known for his speed and accuracy, Murray can turn the tide of a game in the blink of an eye. Although the Cardinals have struggled with consistency in recent seasons, they remain a dangerous team capable of upsetting any opponent.
In addition to Murray, the Cardinals rely heavily on playmakers like wide receiver Marquise Brown and defensive powerhouse Budda Baker. The Cardinals' defense, while not as highly rated as the Bills, has moments of brilliance, and their offensive game plan often relies on quick, explosive plays.
Coaching Battle: Bills vs Cardinals
This game is also a battle between two talented head coaches: Sean McDermott of the Bills and Jonathan Gannon of the Cardinals. McDermott is a defensive-minded coach who has turned Buffalo into one of the most well-rounded teams in the NFL. Gannon, meanwhile, is in his first season with the Cardinals but has already made an impact with his aggressive style.
Both coaches are known for their ability to adjust mid-game, and this chess match on the sidelines could be one of the determining factors in the outcome of the game.
Player Matchups to Watch
This game features some mouth-watering individual matchups, starting with the quarterback duel between Josh Allen and Kyler Murray. Both are known for their mobility and playmaking abilities, and whichever quarterback has the better day could decide the game.

In January, the NFL caught a lot of people off guard when the AFC Wild Card game was not aired on any major broadcast network, ESPN or even its own NFL Network. Fans who wanted to see if the Chiefs would make the playoffs had to subscribe to the Peacock streaming service.
Now, as the NFL kicks off the 2024-2025 season, the NBCUniversal service is home to yet another exclusive—as the second game of the season will once again only be aired on Peacock.
While fans might object to having to subscribe to yet another service to watch the games, it’s something they might have to get used to. The NFL was thrilled with the game’s viewership numbers—and indicated it’s open to more streaming exclusives.
“We couldn’t be prouder of our partnership with Peacock and are thrilled with the results of the first-ever exclusively live streamed NFL playoff game,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in a statement earlier this year. “To best serve our fans, we need to ensure games are available to them as their viewing habits change and this includes digital distribution as we continue to help shape the future of the sports and entertainment industry.”
Here’s how to catch Friday night’s game. And what you can expect for the rest of the season as far as streaming exclusives go.
Which NFL teams are playing Friday? And what channels are airing the games?
Like last night, there’s just one game taking place on Friday. (The home team is listed second.)
Friday, Sept. 6
Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles, 8:15 p.m. ET on Peacock
How can I watch NFL games for free—even if I am out of market?
Normally, we’d suggest a good HD antenna here, but that won’t do you any good for tonight’s game. That leaves you one option
Can I stream 2024 NFL games live online if I don’t have a cable subscription?
Well, obviously…
Peacock
Here’s the good news… If you haven’t already used it, you can get a free seven-day trial on Peacock. (If you used that trick for the Wild Card game in January, though, you’re going to have to pay this time.) Beyond tonight, NBC’s streaming service will give you access to several games, including all upcoming Sunday night matchups. Expect to pay a $8 or $14 monthly charge. (The free version of Peacock does not include live sports.)
Will any other games be streaming exclusives this year?
Yes, several more in fact.
Amazon will largely be the exclusive home of Thursday Night Football once again, with the exception of Thanksgiving (though it will air an exclusive game on Black Friday—Las Vegas at Kansas City). Next January, Amazon will also have exclusive rights to an NFL Wild Card game, like Peacock did last year.
On Oct. 21, EPSN+ will exclusively stream a Monday Night Game, when the Los Angeles Chargers face the Arizona Cardinals.
And Netflix will be the exclusive home to two Christmas Day games in December, the streaming service’s first step into the NFL marketplace.

Two teams that have struggled to fill the most important position on the field are taking another crack at settling their quarterback dilemmas.

For the Atlanta Falcons, $180 million man Kirk Cousins has been handed the keys to the offense. For the Pittsburgh Steelers, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are both trying to revitalize their careers after flaming out elsewhere.
The season opener Sunday will be the first chance to gauge if either team is finally headed in the right direction.
“You feel that sense of urgency as much as you ever have,” Cousins said.
After the Matt Ryan era, the Falcons handed the QB job on a stopgap basis to Marcus Mariota, who didn''t even make it through a single season. A year ago, the team seesawed between Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke on the way to a sixth straight losing record.
Enter Cousins, who agreed to a four-year contract that included $100 million guaranteed. Even coming off an Achilles tendon injury that cut short his final season with the Vikings, he sure seems like a major upgrade over his predecessors.
“We have done a lot to build, and now it counts,” Cousins said. “I’ve been standing here for weeks, months, talking about how it’s just talk right now, and that’s all it can be in May and July, but eventually it’s got to become not just talk, but actual substance. It’ll start on Sunday.”
The Steelers blew up their offense in the offseason, signing Wilson after his two forgettable seasons in Denver and trading for Fields after the Bears decided they were going to take a quarterback with the first pick in the NFL draft.
Wilson easily beat out Fields for the starting job during training camp despite dealing with a calf injury. Yet the redemption arc Wilson is seeking took a hit on Thursday when he tweaked the same calf, leaving his status for the opener uncertain.
The 35-year-old Wilson is hoping for a career reset after getting benched by Broncos coach Sean Payton, leading to Wilson''s eventual ouster.
He has embraced being in Pittsburgh, which sprinted to sign him to a one-year deal minutes into free agency. The Steelers selected Wilson as a team captain, a nod of respect for the way he has embraced a move that seemed unlikely just two years ago after the Broncos signed him to a massive contract before ultimately paying him nearly $40 million to go away.
Both Wilson and Fields are vying to fill a spot that''s been an issue for the Steelers since Ben Roethlisberger retired after the 2021 season. The team cycled through Mitch Trubinsky, Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph before discarding all three in the offseason after a quick first-round playoff loss to Buffalo.
Smith''s return
Arthur Smith didn''t have to wait long for a shot at payback against the team that fired him.
Smith was dumped in January as Atlanta''s coach after three straight 7-10 seasons. He quickly landed with the Steelers, who hired him as offensive coordinator.
Smith is charged with spicing up a run-heavy offense that has struggled to reach the end zone.
A victory over his former employer would be a bonus.
Offensive weapons
With Cousins now running the offense, plus a new coach in Raheem Morris, the Falcons hope to take full advantage of the offensive players they took high in the first round during Smith''s tenure.
Tight end Kyle Pitts was the fourth overall pick in 2021, receiver Drake London was taken at No. 8 in 2022 and running back Bijan Robinson came aboard a season ago, also with the eighth selection.
“I would say explosive is something we really want to be,” Cousins said.
Jumbled line
The quarterback position isn''t the only one littered with new faces for the Steelers.
The offensive line is in the midst of another overhaul, which includes the drafting of tackle Troy Fautanu in the first round and center Zach Frazier in the second.
Frazier will start against the Falcons, while Fautanu’s status remains uncertain as he recovers from a knee injury that slowed him during training camp.
Veteran left guard Isaac Seumalo is also out while dealing with a pectoral injury, with former seventh-round pick Spencer Anderson taking over in the short term.
That’s a lot of moving parts to figure out for a team that figures to rely heavily on the running game early in the year while Wilson tries to build chemistry with a receiver group that’s short on depth behind George Pickens.
Bulked-up defense
The Falcons made major strides defensively in 2023, and they''ve added two more weapons to their arsenal for this season.
Four-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Matthew Judon was acquired from the New England Patriots for a third-round pick. The Falcons needed a pass rusher to bolster a defense that hasn''t had a player with double-digit sacks since Vic Beasley recorded 15 1/2 in 2016.
The Falcons also signed two-time Pro Bowl safety Justin Simmons, who has 30 career interceptions. He''ll pare nicely at the back of the defense with Jesse Bates III.
Pickens or bust
Steelers receiver George Pickens is a dynamic playmaker, but he doesn’t have a whole lot of help on the outside.
None of the next four players on the depth chart — Van Jefferson, Scotty Miller, Calvin Austin III and rookie Roman Wilson — has caught more than 50 passes in a season.
It''s critical for the Steelers to find ways to put the 6-foot-4 Pickens in favorable matchups.
“I think he’s grown in all areas, not only in terms of skill relative to his position — he has a lot of that — but the nuances of the game,” Tomlin said

Kyler Murray already has a place in Bills lore after the Cardinals quarterback''s one and only meeting against Buffalo resulted in a memorable last-second touchdown pass to DeAndre Hopkins.

With the two non-conference teams opening the season in Buffalo on Sunday, so much has changed in the four years since the play was dubbed the "Hail Murray.”
Hopkins and the three Bills defenders – safeties Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde and cornerback Tre’Davious White – getting outleaped by the receiver in the end zone with 2 seconds left in Arizona’s 32-30 win have either changed teams or are out of football.
“It seems like a long time ago,” Murray said, reflecting on his 43-yard winning heave. “It was a good win.”
Though he led Arizona to a playoff berth in 2021, there haven’t been many wins — eight in total — in the desert over of the past two years, leaving Murray focused on the present. The top pick in the 2019 draft enters his sixth NFL season attempting to re-establish his place among the NFL’s elite and carry the Cardinals along with him after recovering from a torn ACL.
“First game of the year, but football’s been on my mind all offseason,” said Murray, who closed last season by going 3-5 after being sidelined for 11 months. “I’ve had this on my mind for a long time, not just this game, but what I want to accomplish and what I want this team to accomplish.”
There’s a look-ahead focus in Buffalo as well, after an offseason salary cap-forced purge led to the departure of six of eight captains, and leaves the Bills with just 11 holdovers from 2020.
“Yeah, I remember that game. Thanks,” coach Sean McDermott said with a wince.
Just don’t ask McDermott to mull it over too much, even though the loss was one of several to play a role in helping set what became Buffalo’s standard of resilience in being able to bounce back from adversity.
It was evident following the loss in Arizona, when Buffalo reeled off eight straight wins, including the playoffs, to clinch its first of four AFC East titles before losing to Kansas City in the conference championship. And it''s an approach that carried over through last year, during which the veteran-laden Bills dropped back-to-back games just three times, and are currently on an NFL record-tying 40-game run in which they’ve not lost by more than 6 points.
McDermott often credited his team’s resilience as signs of scar tissue developed through tough times.
With so many changes, there are few left carrying those scars or able to convey Buffalo''s standard to the newcomers.
“It’s by how we play on Sunday. How we’ve been practicing,” sixth-year cornerback Taron Johnson said. “We’re going to show that with our energy, our juice and how fast we play.”
Johnson doesn’t think it matters whether his new teammates are aware of the “Hail Murray” entering this weekend. He then broke into a smile in knowing one former teammate who might: Hyde.
“I could see him maybe texting me the night before the game,” Johnson said of Hyde, who is unsigned and contemplating retirement, but hasn’t ruled out a potential return to Buffalo. “That would be funny.”
Marvelous Marvin
Rookie receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. will make his NFL debut after being selected fourth overall in the draft. Harrison played just a handful of snaps during the preseason, but the Cardinals expect him to make an immediate impact.
He should be one of many solid options for Murray in the passing game. Second-year player Michael Wilson returns after an encouraging rookie season, as does Trey McBride, who caught 81 passes last year — a franchise record among tight ends.
Where''s the rush?
The Cardinals'' pass rush struggled last year, finishing with 33 sacks, which ranked 30th in the NFL. Arizona hopes for improvement this season, but the team’s defensive front has already taken a few injury hits.
Linebacker BJ Ojulari is out for the season after a knee injury in camp and first-round pick Darius Robinson will miss at least the first four games with a calf injury. The team will lean on veterans Dennis Gardeck and Zaven Collins to make plays.
Catching on
The Bills unveil a new-look receiver group featuring just one member — Khalil Shakir — who has ever caught a pass from Josh Allen.
The newcomers are veteran free agent additions Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins and Marquez Valdes-Scantling and rookie Keon Coleman.
“Everybody eats,” has become the mantra in how the team plans to spread around the receiving production lost after Stefon Diggs was traded to Houston and Gabe Davis left in free agency.
“You can''t speed it up,” Allen said of developing an instant rapport. "But you can still put some blind faith in some things and figure it out as you go."
