Ruth Westreich, President of The Westreich Foundation, generously supports a personalized lifestyle, integrative, functional, palliative and natural medicine nationally and locally, as well as supporting creative and expressive arts as part of whole person healing – body, mind, and spirit. Her primary capability is as a connector, bridge, and strategist within her focused areas of support to bring together those disciplines under one overarching message of Prevention of Disease and Creation of Health.
She is or has been a part of such successful collaborations as Rachel’s Network and the Bravewell Collaborative. She has successfully supported Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine; Academic Consortium for Integrative Health, Academic Consortium for Integrative Health and Medicine, American Nutrition Assoc., UCLA Arts and Healing, National Organization of Arts in Healthcare. Her past board positions include Bastyr College of Natural Medicine, Samueli Institute, San Diego Hospice and the Institute for Palliative Medicine, Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine, UCSD Center for Integrative Medicine. Her current trustee and board positions are Southern California University of Health Sciences, UCLA Arts and Healing and University of San Diego’s Nonprofit Institute.
Ruth calls herself an accidental activist being called to stand up, and stand for, food safety, sustainable farming methods and vaccine safety around the globe. Strategic advisor to GMO Science, a nonprofit repository for research around food safety and use of pesticides around the globe. She believes that any paradigm changes whether in healthcare, public health, food safety or the environment will be the direct result of grassroots campaigns where people come together determined to co-create a more sustainable future for the generations to come.
