NOTE: THE POWER OF POULTRY INSTITUTE WAS ORIGINALLY SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 1-2 AT SEVEN SPRINGS MOUNTAIN RESORT IN PENNSYLVANIA. THIS EVENT IS NOW BEING HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE MOTHER EARTH NEWS FAIR IN ASHEVILLE , NORTH CAROLINA. ALL WORKSHOPS WILL BE HELD AT THE WNC AGRICULTURAL CENTER ON THE THURSDAY AND FRIDAY BEFORE THE FAIR.

Interested in raising your own poultry flock for meat, eggs, or both? Have you recently started a flock but feel you still have a lot to learn? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, you won’t want to miss The Power of Poultry, a MOTHER EARTH NEWS INSTITUTE in collaboration with The Livestock Conservancy and author/speaker Patricia Foreman.

The Power of Poultry is a one-and-a-half day event that will allow attendees to dive in with instructors and chicken experts for a jam-packed program with workshop topics that include choosing species, basic husbandry skills, managing laying and breeding flocks, infrastructure and predator proofing, and bird health and behavior.
