What is RESTORE?Zachary Bush, MD2015-11-05T15:22:48+00:00
What is RESTORE?
RESTORE is a dietary supplement that supplies the first line of defense against gut dysfunction. It is our gut’s firewall of protection against infection, damage from environmental and food-borne toxins. RESTORE creates an optimal environment or ecology in the gut membrane for good gut bacteria to flourish. Good gut flora protects our immune system and maintains our health. RESTORE was developed by scientists trained at some of the most prestigious universities in the country, such as the University of Virginia, Duke University, and the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. It is a scientifically-proven plant-derived mineral supplement designed to support protection of the intestinal walls. Please read through the FAQs page for more information.
What does RESTORE do?
“It is important for people to know that RESTORE produces a medically-significant outcome. My patients, who use the product every day, get better. Rather than treating specific diseases, I use RESTORE to allow our immune system to prevent them in the first place,” says Zach Bush, MD, co-founder and Chief Medical Officer for RESTORE. Dr. Bush is Board Certified: Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism, and Hospice Care.
Seventy percent (70%) of our immune system is found in our gut. We need tens of thousands different strains of good gut bacteria to support a healthy immune system. A breakdown of our immune system can result in illness throughout the body. Clinical evidence, in addition to cell culture studies, support the theory that RESTORE’s proprietary formula creates the optimal environment in the gut to create a tight junction barrier and maintain our health and wellness. RESTORE is a daily liquid supplement designed to support the protection of the entire gastrointestinal (GI) tract against damage caused by agricultural herbicides, antibiotics, GMOs, gluten and food-borne toxins by helping to create an environment where between 20,000-30,000 different strains of good gut bacteria thrive. Most probiotics on the market only contain less than 24 different strains of good gut bacteria.
Why should I be taking RESTORE?
Most Americans eat a diet high in heavily-processed foods filled with chemicals, GMOs, gluten, and environmental toxins such as herbicides and animal antibiotics. This diet can significantly harm the health of the immune system. Even when a person adheres to a much healthier, plant-based and organic diet, it is virtually impossible to avoid exposure to environmental toxins, for example when dining out and traveling.
How does it work?Zachary Bush, MD2015-04-11T00:00:57+00:00
How does it work?
RESTORE nurtures the body’s protective membranes in the gut and in the blood/brain barrier, enabling these membranes to keep us healthy. Because most Americans eat a diet loaded with highly-processed foods, over time the intestinal wall becomes perforated, allowing toxins to leak from the gut into the bloodstream and wreaking havoc with the health of the body. Through state-of-the art scientific studies conducted at prestigious universities and compelling anecdotal evidence from people who use RESTORE, data suggest that by keeping the gut healthy and functioning optimally, one can block gut sensitivity to gluten and other damaging chemicals and address a host of GI issues. In short, RESTORE nurtures the body’s protective membranes in the gut and in the blood/brain barrier, enabling them to work, to keep the body healthy.
What is in RESTORE?Zachary Bush, MD2015-06-01T22:43:32+00:00
Restore is unlike any supplement on the market. It has the science and efficacy of a pharmaceutical while having the low toxicity of a nutraceutical.
RESTORE was developed by scientists trained at some of the most prestigious universities in the country, such as the University of Virginia, Duke University, and the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. RESTORE is made in the USA.
Is RESTORE regulated by the Federal Government?Zachary Bush, MD2015-04-13T21:57:21+00:00
Yes. RESTORE is regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration under the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994, Public Law 103-417.
Under federal law regulations, the manufacturer must be able to prove its products are safe and its labeling and advertising must be truthful and not misleading.
Zachary Bush, MD, Co-Founder and CEO says, “Our team is extremely excited about the potential for RESTORE. It is important for people to know that RESTORE produces a medically-significant outcome. My patients, who use the product every day, get better.”
In addition, we performed the “gold standard” toxicology study on Restore and showed that it is non-toxic on kidney cells even at high doses. Restore has been shown both in the laboratory and clinically to help support the functioning of the gut barrier.
How do I Know Restore Helps
Gut health is making big news headlines these days, with multiple studies conducted at prestigious universities underscoring the fundamental link between gut health and a host of illnesses. All these studies share a common premise: To be well, one must have a healthy gut. We also know, based on compelling anecdotal evidence from people using RESTORE, that if we can keep the gut healthy we can block gut sensitivity to gluten and other damaging chemicals. We can address a host of gastrointestinal tract issues that wreak havoc on every system of the body.
Will Restore help gluten sensitivity issues?
Yes, Restore will help gluten sensitivity issues! In university studies RESTORE blocks gluten’s effect on intestinal tissue and it even repairs the damage to those tissues. With Restore, you get a protection of the cell membrane once again. It is fantastic as barriers go back up and our bodies show that they have the intrinsic capacity to heal.
The ability to protect tight junction integrity has the potential to prevent many acute and chronic inflammatory diseases, significantly reduce healthcare costs, and dramatically improve the health of the population.

I have heard about “leaky gut.” What is it?
Great question! Think of it this way. A healthy gastrointestinal (GI) tract and immune system is like the anti-virus protection you have on your computer and/or electronic device. A good anti-virus program prevents your computer’s IT system from crashing.
Similarly, RESTORE, taken daily, keeps the cells in the membranes of your gut “tight,” preventing toxins access into the bloodstream leading to every organ of the body. These are known as tight junctions. When the membranes of your gut or GI tract are not “tight,” then there is a “leaky gut.”
What are tight junctions?
To use an everyday description, a rock-solid football defensive line protects the opposing team from scoring any points because it has “tight junctions.” In our immune system, these same kind of tight junctions keep things out of the blood stream that should not be there and allow nutrients to enter the bloodstream.
There is a growing body of well-developed science that demonstrates that the tight junction barrier in the gut can be degraded with exposure to gluten and glyphosate (the main chemical in commercial herbicide), causing the intestinal membrane to become leaky. Tight junction degradation in the blood/brain barrier or other body membranes leads to the same leaky condition.
Why is Protection from glyphosate so important?
Numerous scientific studies show that glyphosate, the active ingredient in commercial herbicides, is implicated in a wide variety of systemic disorders including inflammatory bowel disease, obesity, depression, ADHD, autism, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, multiple sclerosis, cancer, cachexia, infertility, and developmental malformations. Glyphosate works synergistically* with other factors, such as insufficient sun exposure, dietary deficiencies in critical nutrients such as sulfur and zinc, and synergistic exposure to other xenobiotics whose detoxification is impaired by glyphosate.
Glyphosate is a common herbicide used in both commercial agricultural purposes and residential purposes. Research by Stephanie Seneff at MIT links glyphosate’s suppression of proper gut bacteria functioning to all modern diseases including gut disorders (e.g. irritable bowel), autoimmune diseases, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, depression, autism, infertility, cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. Glyphosate also degrades the gut wall, and causes intestinal permeability (AKA leaky gut).
In fact, research by Biomic Sciences shows that glyphosate is 10 times more potent than gluten in its ability to degrade the tight junctions in the gut membrane wall and cause leak gut.Thankfully, this bad news comes at a time where consumers have an option to help them recover and maintain their gut health. Biomic Sciences has recently proven that the supplement RESTORE can repair the gut damage caused by glyphosate, and can block additional damage.
*When something is synergistic, it means various parts are working together to produce an enhanced result.
How is RESTORE different from probiotic products
Simply taking probiotics to continuously address a complex health challenge actually leads to a lack of diversity in the gut, which can negatively impact your health. How is RESTORE different from probiotic products? RESTORE is unique in that it may enhance the diversity of the gut bacteria by making the gut environment more friendly to the growth of good gut bacteria. Optimally, a healthy immune system contains 20,000 – 30,000 different strains of good gut bacteria or flora and a typical probiotic is only comprised of between 3 to 30 different bacterial species.
Should I Take Restore if Pregnant?
As with any dietary supplement, if you are pregnant or nursing, consult a health care professional before using RESTORE.
What to do if I experience mild constipation when taking RESTORE
Zach Bush, MD advises, “When my patients first use RESTORE, some of them experience mild constipation. These patients are not drinking enough liquids. There is general scientific agreement that people should consume at least nine glasses of water or herbal teas a day. You may need to drink more water if you exercise and even more if you live in a hot and humid area of the country. If you feel RESTORE is causing constipation despite adequate hydration, I recommend my patients take Magnesium Malate, 1250 mg daily at bedtime for adults or half that dose for children. Also, you can decrease your daily dose of RESTORE in half until your stools return to normal with the above adjustments in hydration and magnesium intake for a couple weeks, then increase back to recommended doses of RESTORE.
If you have any allergic reaction to RESTORE, or if you have any chronic or reoccurring symptoms or illness, consult a health care professional before using this product.”
Zach Bush, MD, holds three board certifications in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism, and Hospice Care. Dr. Bush uses RESTORE in his medical practice in Scottsville, VA.
