America's Mothers Unite Ahead of Mid-terms

Zen Honeycutt, Kendall Mackintosh·

As a group of diverse organizations reaching hundreds of millions of US households, we came together on October 12-13, 2026, in Washington, D.C., with one common goal: to make the world a better place for children and families. While we may not agree on every other issue or strategy, it was a powerful demonstration of how we can convene to find common ground in these significant areas.

This is just the beginning of our ongoing work together.

We, the undersigned, as of Oct 14th (more groups pending board approval) urgently call upon Congress to enact legislation that achieves the following:

  1. We support a call for legislation that will support parents to be fully informed of all results of any genetic testing conducted at birth and offer parents an opt-out.
  2. We call on the U.S. government to restrict any hormone-disrupting chemicals in agriculture and manufacturing that the EU has restricted in our water, food, and household products, in order to protect health and our ability to reproduce healthy babies.
  3. Parents have the fundamental right and primary responsibility to provide for the safety, health, and education of our children, ensuring opportunities for success and the freedom to achieve prosperity to live the American Dream. All legislation and policy agendas must respect and protect the fundamental right of parents.
  4. We mothers support a call for an Act that requires industry pollutants to be appropriately classified as hazardous waste and properly disposed of, as well as discontinue production of hormone-disrupting chemicals used in agriculture and household products.
  5. Expose the truth about what’s in our food, hold corporations accountable, and empower every American to demand real food, ingredient transparency, and a food system that puts human health before corporate profits.
  6. Reduce U.S. dependence on conventional pesticides.
  7. Support funding for soil health and regenerative farming to accelerate the availability of American-grown, nutrient-dense, and non-toxic food.
  8. As all civil servants take an oath to defend the Constitution, objective Constitutional training should be an annual federal requirement to remind federal employees of the law that governs their everyday actions.
  9. Investigate the impact of non-native EMFs and invite community input on cell tower and data center installations.
  10. Support funding in child care and early learning environments to allow for the inclusion of child health and environmental health protections in standards, including air, water, common cleaning products, food, and the building itself.
  11. Support funding for soil health and regenerative farming to accelerate the availability of American-grown, nutrient-dense, and non-toxic food.
  12. We believe moms in need should be connected to public/private support services to stabilize the home environment and keep children with their families whenever safely possible.
  13. We ask local, state, and federal governments to protect clean air and children’s health, making sure they and their families have clean air to breathe, clean water to drink, and healthy neighborhoods to live in, regardless of zip code.
  14. Reject chemical industry-led efforts to weaken federal chemical safety policy, and strengthen it by taking a precautionary approach to new chemicals.
  15. Support access to WIC fruit and vegetable benefits and the Farmers Market Program, and support WIC modernization including remote/virtual recertifications. These two things will ensure 7 million low-income women, babies, and kids can access better health.
  16. We would like you to adopt the framework of putting families ahead of corporate profit. Specific demand: no immunity for fossil fuel, petrochemical, or pesticide companies from state, local, or federal accountability laws or lawsuits.
  17. Expand the Right to Try Act to ensure Phase 1 drugs are available to minors and adults with rare diseases, not just the terminally ill.
  18. We urge House members of both parties to form the Fix Our Food Caucus and work together to make healthy food affordable, reduce toxic chemical exposure, prevent diet-related disease, and improve school meals for kids.
  19. Protect head-of-household tax status for single parents and increase its deduction.
  20. We all deserve online safety to be healthy and thrive, and our systems should reflect that.
  21. We support a universal childcare solution that works for all family types, including single-parent homes.
  22. Informed consent to medical risk-taking is a natural right that should govern the ethical practice of medicine and be codified into public health policy and law.
  23. Support all vaccine injured and deaths through compensation reform.
  24. Prohibit geoengineering and weather modification, and better enforce the Clean Air Act to protect our air, land, crops, water, and human health.
