Food & Farming: Protecting Our Food Supply
Pesticides, GMOs, and toxic chemicals are contaminating the food our families eat every day. We're fighting for a food supply that is safe, transparent, and truly nourishing.
Learn the FactsThe Problem with Our Food
The American food supply is saturated with pesticides. Glyphosate — the active ingredient in Roundup — is the most widely used herbicide in the world and is found in over 90% of conventional foods.
Glyphosate: By the Numbers
76–166 ug/L
Glyphosate levels found in American breast milk — meaning babies are being exposed from their very first meal.
34%
Of urine samples tested positive for glyphosate, confirming widespread human exposure through the food supply.
760–1,600x
Higher than European drinking water standards — that's how much glyphosate was found in some American food and water samples.
GMOs & Industrial Agriculture
Genetically modified crops now dominate U.S. agriculture. Over 90% of corn, soy, and cotton grown in America is genetically engineered — primarily to withstand heavy applications of herbicides like glyphosate.
This means more chemicals sprayed, more residue in our food, and more exposure for our families. The result: a generation of children growing up with unprecedented levels of pesticides in their bodies.
The World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer classified glyphosate as a “probable human carcinogen” in 2015. Despite this, the EPA continues to allow its use on American crops.
The Good News
Studies show that women who ate organic food for several months had no detectable glyphosate in their bodies. Switching to organic works — and it works fast.
What You Can Do
Every purchase is a vote. Every conversation is an opportunity. Here's how you can protect your family and transform the food system.
Buy Organic
Start with the Dirty Dozen — the most pesticide-contaminated produce. Even switching a few staples to organic makes a measurable difference in your family's exposure.
Support Local Farmers
Shop at farmers markets and join a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Local organic farmers are your front line against industrial agriculture.
Demand GMO Labeling
Contact your representatives and demand clear, mandatory labeling of genetically modified ingredients. You have a right to know what's in your food.
Contact Your School Board
School lunch programs feed millions of children every day. Advocate for organic, non-GMO food in your school cafeteria. Bring our testing data to your next school board meeting.
Grow Your Own Food
Even a small container garden gives you control over what your family eats. Use organic seeds and soil, and teach your children where real food comes from.
Support Regenerative Agriculture
Regenerative farming rebuilds soil health, sequesters carbon, and produces more nutritious food. Support farms and brands that practice regenerative methods.
