100% of Top 20 Fast Food Brands Positive for Glyphosate

Moms Across America tested meals from each of the top 20 fast food restaurants in the United States. Not a single brand was free of glyphosate contamination.

Key Findings

Independent laboratory analysis of meals purchased from America’s most popular fast food chains revealed glyphosate in every single sample.

100%

All 20 Brands Positive for Glyphosate

Every single fast food brand in the top 20 by revenue tested positive for glyphosate herbicide residue, the active ingredient in Roundup.

439.11 ppb

Panera Bread — Highest Glyphosate Level

Panera Bread, which markets itself as 'clean' and 'transparent,' had the highest glyphosate level of any brand tested at 439.11 parts per billion.

4.65 ppb

Chipotle — Lowest Level Detected

Chipotle had the lowest glyphosate reading at 4.65 ppb. While lower than other brands, this still represents contamination in food marketed as non-GMO.

27

Different Pesticides Found

27 distinct pesticide compounds were identified across all fast food samples — creating a toxic cocktail effect with compounding health risks.

Glyphosate & AMPA Results

AMPA (aminomethylphosphonic acid) is the primary metabolite of glyphosate and indicates glyphosate breakdown in the body or food.

27 Different Pesticides Found

Beyond glyphosate, the testing identified 27 distinct pesticide compounds across all fast food samples. This “cocktail effect” of multiple pesticides simultaneously is increasingly recognized as more dangerous than individual exposures — but is rarely studied or regulated.

Pesticides found included organophosphates (linked to neurodevelopmental damage), neonicotinoids (potent insecticides toxic to the nervous system), and fungicides associated with hormonal disruption.

Despite Panera Bread’s “clean food” marketing, its meals contained the highest glyphosate levels of any brand tested. This underscores the gap between corporate food marketing claims and independent laboratory reality.
