SECTION 10205 — Pesticide Industry Liability Shield
This section would prevent individuals and families from suing pesticide manufacturers when their products cause harm — even when companies knew their products were dangerous. This provision was clearly designed in response to the landmark glyphosate lawsuits, in which juries repeatedly found that Monsanto (now Bayer) failed to warn consumers that Roundup causes cancer.

The science is clear: glyphosate, the world's most widely used herbicide, has been classified as a "probable human carcinogen" by the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). Courts have awarded billions of dollars to victims — including groundskeepers, farmers, and everyday Americans — who developed non-Hodgkin lymphoma after years of Roundup exposure.

Section 10205 would retroactively eliminate these families' right to seek justice and would remove the only meaningful accountability mechanism that exists for pesticide safety.

SECTION 10206 — Ban on Local Restrictions
This section would preempt state and local governments from restricting pesticide use in their own communities. It would prevent towns, cities, and counties from banning harmful pesticides near schools, playgrounds, hospitals, and drinking water sources — even when the community has voted to do so.

Local communities must retain the right to protect their residents, especially children and vulnerable populations, from chemicals that the federal government has failed to adequately regulate.

SECTION 10207 — Weakening of Safety Review
This section would further weaken the already inadequate federal review process for pesticide safety, making it even harder to restrict or ban dangerous chemicals.

Together, these three sections represent the most aggressive attempt in decades to shield the pesticide industry from accountability while removing protections for American families. They were not written to protect farmers or consumers — they were written to protect corporate profits.

I urge you to:

1. Publicly oppose Sections 10205, 10206, and 10207 of the Farm Bill
2. Demand their removal before any vote on the bill
3. Protect the constitutional right of citizens to seek justice in court when harmed by toxic products
4. Preserve the authority of local governments to restrict pesticide use in their communities
