City of Lakeway 38th Annual 4th of July Parade

Fourth of July Parade 2013 - “Red-White-Blue & Golden ”

We are hoping that you will participate in the City of Lakeway 38th Annual 4th of July Parade. Our theme this year is “Red-White-Blue & Golden”. The parade date will be Thursday, July 4 and starts promptly at 8:30 a.m. As we did in the past, all entries will assemble at the Live Oak Driving Range starting at 7:00 a.m. and should be in place and ready to begin at 8:15 at the very latest. The parade route goes down Lakeway Drive from the Live Oak Club House to Cross Creek. The July 4th Pageant begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Activity Center.

This year is the City of Lakeway Golden (50th) anniversary and we are anxious to see how you will include the Golden Anniversary theme into your patriotic decorations. We also hope that since 2013 is such a significant year for Lakeway that the spectators and judges will be amazed by your decorations. All creative entries, from floats, bands,
and golf carts, to walkers and vehicles are welcome to participate in our traditional and unique Lakeway Parade.  We ask that any amplified sound from your entry be patriotic in nature – we love having more patriotic music.

Entries will be placed in categories for judging – Corporate Business, Civic Organizations and Clubs, Schools and Scouts, and General Classification. Vintage car and convertible entries are wonderful additions to the parade but will not be judged. The parade entries will be judged on presentation of the theme, creativity, patriotic emphasis,
effort and instant impression. One entry will win Best of Parade.
