Live It Up! Celebrating the Good Life Community Wellness Event.

Saturday October 12, 11am-2pm.

The San Diego County Latino Association and County of San Diego Filipino-American Employees Association invite you to participate in this fun filled day of activities, food and music that will connect people from many communities with practical information and tips about healthy eating, active living, and disease prevention.  Free to the public.

Please join Label GMOs San Diego at our booth where we will be promoting awareness of the health risks/dangers of genetically engineered (trans genic) foods, and also the dangers of the Trans Pacific Partnership that will discourage and threaten labeling laws, and also promote another upcoming event, a Spanish-subtitled Genetic Roulette showing on Sunday October 27^th at Vista Library Community Room.

The booth will be FUN.  In addition to an “adult” table, we will also have a children’s activity table where we will provide (biodegradable) newspaper “cups”, little edible plant clippings, and dirt: some volunteers (that could be you) will help the children plant the little edible plants in the newspaper cups with the dirt, and we will have bags for them to keep their creation intact until they get home to plant in the ground or in a pot.  We ran this event at Vista Farmers Market a couple weeks ago and it was a JOY – at least 50 happy children and appreciative parents left with their free gift.

We especially could use volunteers who speak Spanish or Tagalog.

We need volunteers for the following shifts:

9:30am-11am (setup canopy, booth, display, signs, supplies, watch stuff)

11am-1pm (event starts at 11am)

12noon-2pm (manage booth, pass out flyers, answer questions, help children)

1pm-2:30pm (event ends 2pm, 2pm-2:30pm take down canopy/table and put supplies into boxes)
