Interested in healthier food for your family? Please join us for the Moms Across America March as part of Independence Day parades throughout the country. Sponsored by Moms Across America, Label GMOs, and California State Grange, getting out an informing our neighbors is a great way to exercise our freedoms as we pursue our right to know what's in our food.
Although we will not actually march in the parade, we will be there with our flyers or signs and offer educational literature to spectators before (and after, if you wish) the parade. We had fun last year and walked the entire parade route before the parade started and talked with nearly everyone. If you want to participate, please join us at the time and location stated below. Please note: It would make sense to arrive around 1:30pm – 1:45pm to find parking and meet whoever shows up. We meet at 1:45 pm on the sidewalk in front of Fidelity , 16656 Bernardo Center Drive, San Diego, CA, 92128. Lezlie Ely will arrive about 1:45pm to provide flyers for volunteers who want to help pass out flyers to all the people sitting patiently before the parade starts. She will be available there 1:45pm – 2pm to hand out flyers to volunteers. If you want to carry a sign, then you need to bring your own sign. Volunteers can start walking the parade route (and talking with people sitting on the sidelines and passing out flyers) by 2pm and should plan to finish by around 3:30pm when the parade officially starts. If some volunteers start walking in one direction of the parade route and other volunteers start walking in the opposite direction, then we will not be talking to the same people. If you want to leave prior to 5:30 pm, you need to arrive early enough to find a place to park outside of the marked parade route, which should not be a problem. There should be free parking on Iberia (just after you get off Hwy 15 freeway onto Bernardo Center Drive you can make a left onto Iberia).
Thanks for your interest in healthy food and healthy families.
Happy Independence Day!
