GMO Awareness of Western MA sponsors a "MOTHERS ACROSS AMERICA MARCH" to LABEL GMOS! In Chesterfield MA - 2013, July 4.
Parade starts at 10:30
MEET at 9:30 to gather together at South Street just south of Main Rd.
9:45 each group lines up.
Contact me for t-shirts and organizing decorations!
Bring some strollers and stuffed animals or kids and POSITIVE red white and blue SIGNS about
"GMO FREE KIDS!"
and "HEALTHY KIDS, HEALTHY FUTURES, LABEL GMOs!"
or "LABEL GMOS NOW!"
THEME OF THIS YEARS PARADE IS:
"CHILDREN ARE THE FUTURE!"
MUSICAL PEOPLE - contact me! They are hoping for some musical marchers! We might come up with a nice chant / song. Again, keeping it very family friendly, positive, patriotic (let's keep our anger checked a bit, keep this parade a fun positive experience for people with awesome things to learn!) ALSO - some organizing the event have expressed STRONG SUPPORT for us being there and said they wished they could march with us! Yaay! We may be preaching to the choir a bit in this neighborhood! But - bring your cameras - let's show the world we mean business - we need GMOs labeled now and out of our kids food - OUT OF SCHOOL LUNCHES!
GMOs OUT OF SCHOOL LUNCHES theme would be GREAT! Contact me for any ideas
Please RSVP to our FB event page too: https://www.facebook.com/events/365640440207002 and discuss with us more there - invite all your friends - or email me!
Thanks!
- Leigh

…I’ve collected a bunch of (donated!) white t-shirts and some other colors, too, and am considering getting some fabric paints to design some tshirts for the march! Who would like one and what design would you like?
June 30th – GMO potluck & tshirt decorating day, 12 noon, Amherst. Sweetzer Park on Main Street. Do your own where you live or put in a request! You can request a phrase, colors, and shirt size (though we might have lots of larges, I have to check). I / we might just make some that say things like this:
Some ideas:
“GMO’s: JUST LABEL IT!”
“FREE our FOOD!”
“GMO FREE SCHOOL LUNCHES! NOW!”
By the way, I’m still thinking of dressing up like a corn on the cob and holding / making a sign that says “I am the 12%! …of non GMO Corn left in the USA” any tips / advice / ideas? :-) Hope you all don’t mind… I don’t think we “need” a single theme, just say / express what we want how we want, sound good? Clothing / signs – whatever goes? Red white and blue seems to be a good theme though.
They also want musical acts. Anyone up for singing a song or chanting a chant?
